Homemade oat milk is a healthy, dairy free milk made from oats and water. It is a great alternative for people who are following a vegan diet, or for people who are allergic to dairy products. Making oat milk at home is super simple, easy and budget friendly. It doesn’t require any special methods or fancy tools.
Take oats in a bowl, add in 2 cups of water and soak them for 30 mins.
Now take them in a blender and puree them coarsely. Strain this through a sieve and take the pulp back in the blender and 1 cup more water and puree again. Strain this again. Now discard the pulp.
Strain the milk one more time to remove any residual pulp.
Add in sugar and vanilla extract or ground cardamom to taste which is optional. Chill in fridge for couple of hours.
Serve cold.
