Kadumbuttu is a steamed dumplings made using rice rava or cream of rice or idli rava. It is a popular recipe from coorg. Heat water in a sauce pan and bring it to a boil. Add salt and sugar and mix well.
Add in rice rava and mix well. Keep mixing till it gets thick. Remove to a bowl and cool it down. Add coconut and mix well.
Take small portion and shape it into ball. Place it in a steamer and steam for 10 mins. Serve with chutney.
Notes
You can use store bought rice rava or homemade.
You can easily find whether the puttu is cooked or not. The coconut added in the puttu will start to show on the outer layer which indicates the dumplings is cooked.
Make sure to steam them till it is cooked, you can break a dumpling to check whether it is cooked or not.
Be generous with the coconut, it adds so much flavour.
