Mango Halwa Recipe | How to Make Mango Halwa

Mango halwa is a delicious Indian dessert that is made with mango, sugar and cornflour. This dessert is similar to Bombay Karachi halwa recipe. I have incorporated the traditional halwa recipe with mangoes. This dessert is very easy to make and can be prepared in a matter of minutes. It is perfect for any occasion and can be served either hot or cold. This halwa is irresistibly sweet and super simple to make and outrageously delicious.

Notes

Follow these tips and tricks for perfect chewy mango halwa recipe :
  • Choose fresh and ripened mangoes for best flavour and taste. If fresh mangoes are not available, use canned mango puree. Make sure to thaw them before using.
  • Dissolve the cornflour with water or milk and ensure there are no lumps. If there is any lump, it may spoil the texture of halwa.
  • Use a non-stick pan to cook the halwa. Always cook in low heat to avoid sticking and burning at the end.
  • Grease a pan with ghee and transfer the halwa mixture to the greased pan.
  • Once it is cooled down completely, cut them into pieces.

Storage and serving

Sliced mango halwa can be stored in an airtight container for 3 to 5 days. Mango halwa can be served warm or chilled. If you prefer a refreshing dessert, allow it to cool in the refrigerator for a while before serving.
Garnish the mango halwa with various options like dried rose petals, saffron strands, chopped nuts. You can also serve them into small jelly-like pieces, stack them in a bowl and add some mango ice cream for more tropical flavour
