Mango halwa is a delicious Indian dessert that is made with mango, sugar and cornflour. This dessert is similar to Bombay Karachi halwa recipe. I have incorporated the traditional halwa recipe with mangoes. This dessert is very easy to make and can be prepared in a matter of minutes. It is perfect for any occasion and can be served either hot or cold. This halwa is irresistibly sweet and super simple to make and outrageously delicious.

    About Mango Halwa

Mango halwa is a traditional Indian dessert that captures the essence of summer with its vibrant flavours and rich texture. This halwa is a mango flavoured version of the famous Bombay Karachi halwa. Sweet and wobbly mango halwa is made with mango, cornstarch, sugar, and ghee. The cornflour gives it a wobbly and soft texture while ghee makes this as jelly or halwa consistency.

Why do people love this recipe - I love this mango halwa recipe for its chewy texture and burst of tropical flavour it has. It’s a quick dessert recipe that can be made in under 30 minutes, making it perfect for unexpected guests at home or a last minute dessert planning. And also it’s a great way to enjoy these seasonal mangoes in a delicious treat and everyone will surely love this !

Mango based recipes are very much liked by children as well as adults. Also, jelly is an all-time favourite for kids. This mango jelly or mango halwa is a combination of jelly and mango halwa which makes it an incredibly satisfying and delicious dessert. The very first time I came across this recipe on vahrehvah.com and I was so excited to try this recipe as soon as possible. When I tried, it came out really good and exceeded my expectations. I know you and your family will definitely enjoy this recipe as much as I did.

Mangoes are sweet and bright, making this recipe perfect for Tamil new year and Vishu. These mango recipes are a perfect way to start and celebrate the new beginnings. The golden color and delicious taste of mangoes feel special when you serve them in a banana leaf meal. It’s easy to prepare recipes and you can spend more time with your family. It is a tasty and healthy treat dessert.

This mango halwa is great because you can make a lot of different things like mango custard halwa, or you can cut the mango halwa into small pieces like jelly and add it to your fruit salad or even in your drink for a refreshing and chewy flavour.

    Why does this recipe work?

Ease to make : During festivals or any occasion, time and energy can be limited as we have a lot of chores to do at home. This recipe comes in handy and can be prepared in less than 30 minutes with a list of ingredients easily available at home.

Versatile : Mangoes can be used in different ways like drinks, kesari, smoothies, pachadi ( sweet and savoury ), etc. This recipe is so versatile that you can serve these mangoes as custard or even as a jelly for your salad topping.

Flavour : Mango halwa has a rich and aromatic flavour that comes from the combination of ripe mangoes and ghee. The mango sweetness enhances the overall taste and makes it a delightful treat for sweet tooth.

Hydration and energy : Mangoes generally have high water content, which helps to rehydrate the body. After a long tiring sunny day, the body craves for something sweet and refreshing. This recipe with balanced sugar will be a perfect and delicious treat for your sweet craving.

    Ingredients

Mango puree or pulp : Mango puree is the main star ingredient of the recipe. It provides the tropical flavour, vibrant color and natural sweetness to the dessert. Fresh or canned mango pulp can be used.

Cornstarch : Cornflour acts as a thickening agent. It helps to achieve the chewy and gelatinous texture.

Sugar : Sugar helps to balance the mango flavour and add sweetness to the dessert. You can adjust the sugar according to your preference. Also you can add other sweeteners like maple syrup, coconut sugar, agave, condensed milk, honey etc.

Water : Water helps to dissolve the cornflour and sugar. Measure and add enough water for a smooth texture.

Cardamom powder : Cardamom powder adds a warm spice that enhances the sweetness of mango flavour.

Nuts : I have used mixed nuts like cashew nut, almond, walnut and pista. It helps to achieve the nutty texture and flavour.

Ghee : Ghee helps to achieve the smooth and glossy halwa.
