Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Kuthiraivali / Barnyard Millet
  • ½ cup Yellow Moong Dal / Pasi Paruppu
  • 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Ghee
  • 3 cup Water

For Tempering

  • 3 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Whole Black pepper
  • 2 no Green Chillies chopped finely
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger peeled and minced
  • ¼ teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 10 no Cashews optional
  • 2 sprig Curry leaves

Instructions
 

  • Wash dal and millet really well. Drain it and set aside.
  • Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add in dal, roast till golden. Add in millet along with water and salt. Pressure cook fo 3 whistle. Simmer for 5 mins. Turn off the heat and let them steam go all by itself. Open the cooker and mix well.
  • Heat ghee in a pan. Add in all the ingredients for tempering. Mix well.
  • Add the cooked dal millet and mix well.
  • Serve with sambar  or chutney.
