Millet pongal recipe with step by step pictures. Healthy and wholesome millet pongal made using millets, spices and cashews which are great for breakfast or brunch.
Wash dal and millet really well. Drain it and set aside.
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add in dal, roast till golden. Add in millet along with water and salt. Pressure cook fo 3 whistle. Simmer for 5 mins. Turn off the heat and let them steam go all by itself. Open the cooker and mix well.
Heat ghee in a pan. Add in all the ingredients for tempering. Mix well.
Add the cooked dal millet and mix well.
Serve with sambar or chutney.
