Keralan Chilli Mutton Roast Recipe - Mutton Chilli Roast Recipe with step wise pictures. Spicy and flavourful mutton roast which taste great with idiyappam, appam or roti. You can enjoy with rice as well.
Take mutton, salt, ginger garlic paste and lemon juice in a bowl and mix well. Take it in a pressure cooker and cook for 6 to 7 whistle. Take it off the heat and let the steam escape by itself. Set aside.
Grind chillies and garlic to a coarse paste.
Heat oil in a pan, add in whole spices and curry leaves. Add in onions and garlic. Cook till golden. Add in tomatoes and chilli garlic paste and saute well. Cover and cook till tomatoes get mushy. Add in all spice powders and salt. Stir and cook on medium heat till oil separates.
Now add in cooked mutton and mix well. Cook on low heat till water dries and gets roast. Add in black pepper powder and coriander leaves. Serve.

You can use boneless mutton or mutton with bone-in.
Add in chopped shallots instead of onions. Tomato puree can be used instead of chopped tomatoes.
You can cook mutton in a pressure cooker or instant pot.
You can use ghee or regular oil instead of coconut oil.
