Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Brown Masoor Dal
  • 3 cups Water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Oil or Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Paste
  • 2 Green Chilli chopped finely
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • Coriander Leaves a handful finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • Wash dal well. Take it in a pressure cooker, Cover with water. Pressure cook for 2 whistle, simmer for 15 mins. Turn off the heat and let the steam escape all by itself. Open the cooker and mash it little.
  • Heat oil or ghee in a pan, add in cumin and let it sizzle.
  • Now add in chilli, turmeric and garam masala powder. Saute for 10 sec.
  • Pour this into the dal and mix well.
  • Add in salt and sugar. Mix well. Add in coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Serve.
