Roti Jala Recipe (Malaysian Net Crepes)

Malaysian lace pancakes or roti jala is a fun recipe made using flour, eggs. This delicious pancakes taste amazing with chicken rendang.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour (Maida)
  • ¾ cup Milk
  • ¼ cup Water
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoon Oil

Instructions
 

  • Take all ingredients in a blender and blend together for 30 seconds.
  • Heat the tawa on medium heat. Pour the batter in to a squeeze bottle and gently squeeze it over the tawa to form swirls like shown in the picture.
  • Let it cook on very low flame for just few seconds. Remove it to a plate.
  • Fold from both sides, and roll it gently. Serve it with spicy chicken curry.

Notes

  1. Always cook on low heat.
  2. Make sure the batter is not too thick or too thin. Adjust the batter consistency using water.
  3. You can use sauce bottle or roti jala funnel to make this.
  4. You don't have to flip the pancakes.
