Sandwich uthappam or Uttapam, also called a no-bread sandwich, is a quick and easy recipe made with simple ingredients. It is soft, filling and perfect for breakfast, dinner or even as an evening snack. You can enjoy it with tomato ketchup, green chutney, coconut chutney or even with podi.
Place a cast iron dosa tawa on medium heat. Spread ½ cup of the dosa batter over the tawa. Don't spread too thick or too thin.
Add some butter and green chutney. Spread it over the dosa evenly.
Now Sprinkle onions, tomatoes, capsicum, green chillies, coriander leaves and pav bhaji masala over it .
Spoon ½ cup more dosa batter over it and spread it to cover the entire dosa. Add more butter or oil as needed. Cover and cook for few minutes until the uthappam cooks a little. Cook on low heat. Cook till bottom crisp up.
Dollop some butter over it, flip over and cook till the bottom is golden. Cook both sides on low heat till golden brown and cooked.
Remove and spread some butter on top. Cut into wedges and serve.
