Bread Cutlet Recipe

Bread cutlet or bread vegetable tikki is a popular Indian snack recipe that is made using cooked vegetables and fresh bread. These cutlets are so easy to make, no coating or dipping in batter, just shape it of your choice and deep fry it. It is perfect for evening snacks or for family gatherings. The cutlet can be made ahead in time and stored in the refrigerator, it comes in handy when guests show up. So that you can serve immediately hot in no time. This bread vegetable cutlet can be served along with a cup of tea, green chutney or even with tomato ketchup.

Ingredients
  

  • 7 slices Bread I used wheat bread
  • 1 teaspoon Oil + for deep frying
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel Seeds
  • 1 medium Onion peeled & chopped very finely
  • 1 no Green Chillies chopped finely
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 medium Carrot grated
  • 3 no Beans chopped very finely
  • ¼ cup Cabbage chopped very finely
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 2 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan, add in fennel seeds and saute for a min. Add in onions, chillies and cook till light golden. Add in ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.
  • Now add in all veggies and salt. Cook till the veggies are cooked. Add in spice powders and mix well. Masala done.
  • Now dip bread slices in water and squeeze them. Crumble them into a bowl.
  • Add the veggie mix in and mix well. Take a small portion from this and shape it into balls. Flatten it slightly.
  • Deep fry this in hot oil till golden. Drain and serve with ketchup.
