  • Put condensed milk can sidewards in a big pressure cooker, Cover it completely with water and cover it and put whistle.
  • Put it on heat and after the first whistle simmer the flame and cook or 30 mins. Turn off the heat and let the steam go all by itself.
  • Open the cooker and remove the can from the water, put it over counter top and leave it to cool completely. I left it overnight. Now open and dig into it straight away or use in your recipes.
  • Once opened, transfer the mix to an air tight container and store in fridge for many months

Notes

  • the longer you cook, the more caramel it become.
  • Use sweetened condensed milk for this recipe.
  • You can store the dulce de leche without opening the can for many months.
  • Instead of pressure cooking, you can boil this in a sauce pan covered for many hours.
  • Allow the mixture to cool completely before opening, else it may explode because the caramel will be super hot.

You can use dulce de leche to make this Iced latte, Dulce de Leche ice cream and Dulce De Leche Flan.
You can store the dulce de leche without opening the can for many months. Once opened, transfer the mix to an air tight container and store in fridge for many months.
