Fried Chicken Burger Recipe, super juicy chicken burger made with fried chicken, toasted buns, lettuce, onions, tomatoes makes them a perfect wholesome dinner or lunch on its own. The chicken stays juicy and tender from the buttermilk marination. This taste amazing with some mayo and fries on side.
Preparing Chicken - Take boneless chicken breast or thigh in a cutting board. Cover with plastic wrap. Use a rolling pin or meat mallet to bash them lightly to even out the chicken. This way the chicken cooks faster and much more evenly.
Chicken Marination - Take buttermilk or yogurt in a bowl. Add salt, garlic, lemon juice, red chilli sauce and mix well. Add chicken in this marination and mix well. Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and place in fridge to marinate for atleast 2 hours or overnight.
Seasoned Flour - Mix plain flour, cornstarch, seasonings, salt in a bowl. This is your seasoned flour.
Coating Chicken - Take chicken from the fridge at least 1 hour before frying so it comes back to room temp. Take the chicken from marination. Coat them in the seasoning flour really well on both sides. Remove them and set aside in a wire rack or plate.
Frying Chicken - Heat oil for deep frying, Once the oil gets hot, drop chicken in the hot oil and fry till golden and crispy. It will take around 5 to 8 minutes depending on the chicken you use. Once fried, remove the chicken from oil and strain on some paper towel to remove excess oil.
Assemble Burger - Take wheat buns, slice them in half. Now toast the buns with oil or butter until golden and crispy. Take bottom half of the bun, place a serving plate. Spread 1 tablespoon of Mayonnaise. Top with ¼ cup of lettuce, few slices of onions and tomatoes. Place fried chicken on top of tomatoes. Spread the other top half of the bun with ketchup. Place over the fried chicken. Secure with a tooth pick. Serve immediately.
