Instant Sambar Recipe – 10 Min Sambar Recipe with Gram Flour

This recipe will be a boon for us. A amazing recipe to try when you dont have that much time on hand. It taste similar to sambar but without much effort.

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time: 10 mins
Serves : 4


Ingredients:

Oil – 1 tblspn
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
Urad Dal / Ulundu Paruppu – 1 tsp
Onion – 1 medium size sliced
Tomato – 1 large sliced 
Green Chilli – 1 sliced
Gram Flour / Besan / Kadalai Mavu – 2 tblspn
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tblspn
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Potato –  1 large boiled and peeled
Water as needed
Salt to taste
Sugar – 1 tsp
Coriander Leaves a handful chopped finely

Method:

Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal and let it sizzle.

Add in onions, tomatoes, green chillies and saute for a min.

Add in gram flour, chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder. mix well.

Add in water, potatoes, salt and sugar and bring it to a boil.

Add in coriander leaves and mix well.

      yes. tamarind or some similar sourness is a must.
