I totally forgot about holi iteself. I was too lazy to cook new recipes for it till yesterday. Luckily i had a sweet potato jamun recipe on hand so i shared it. But somehow the mind of the food blogger will make you do it, so today morning i made this traditional holi special drink thandai. I have already made the dough for mawa gujiya and after publishing this post, i will be rushing into the kitchen to make that. Will be sharing it in a few hours.

Badam Drink
Ragi Malt
Take all your ingredients |
Bring milk to a boil |
Pour it into a jug |
add in sugar |
mix well and leave it to cool down in a fridge |
Take saffron in a bowl |
add few spoons of milk over it and steep it for 10 mins |
Now bring ½ cup of water to a boil |
Take cashews in a bowl |
Add in almonds / badam |
Add in cardamom pods |
add in poppy seeds in it |
add in fennel seeds |
and some whole pepper |
pour half cup of water over it |
leave this to soak for 15 mins |
now it is all soaked |
Take this in a blender |
make it into a fine puree |
add this puree into the milk |
and the half of the saffron milk |
mix well and leave this for 15 mins |
Now strain this milk |
extract as much liquid as possible |
this is the extracted milk |
i transfered it into a jug |
add the remaining saffron milk |
and rose essence |
mix well |
chill this for a hour |
serve |
