Steamed Dosa for Babies / Dosa for Babies - Baby Food Recipes / Toddler Food Recipes

As soon as i posted my feeding schedule for baby,  i got so many mails from y viewers asking me how to make steamed dosa for babies. I just replied them the procedure, since it was too easy to be posted here. But many of you wanted the recipe. So here i am sharing it with you..

Normally i feed maha idli for breakfast and dinner, Since it is easy to digest. But someday she needs something different for variation. that time i make this steamed version of dosa. Steaming dosa makes it softer, i mix it with warm water and make it like a paste then feed her. She loves it. Adding ghee gives a little taste to it. I even sprinkle some salt and pepper for more taste.

1)This is so filling and nutritious meal for your babies.

2)You can start feeding this for babies above 6 months. For 6 month baby dont add pepper.

3)Always feed this meal breakfast and dinner.

4)When feeding, i add some warm water and mash the dosa well and feed. This prevents choking.

5)Adding ghee enhances the flavour and make it more nutritious for you baby and helps in weight gaining in babies.

6)Make sure the ghee which you use is pure ones. I make my own ghee.

7)I sometimes add some salt and pepper over this and feed her.

  8. Hi Aarthi,

By son is 1 year 1 month old now. I try to give him finger foods and granular food but he does not take them and only wants to have properly mashed food. I always mash things like roti with daal, khichdi with a potato masher and then give. He even does not take cheese pieces. If I leave small peices of veggies in sooji upma, he will make only few chew like movements and swallow but I see those pieces as it is when he passes stools.
Please let me know to make him chew.
