Serves: 6 to 8
Split yellow moong dal / Pasi paruppu - 1 cup
Take dal in a bowl and wash it well. Add in beetroot, chillies, small onion, garlic and water and bring it to a boil. Simmer the flame and cook for 20 mins till it is done.
Now add in salt and mix well.
Now heat ghee and crackle some cumin seeds and curry leaves. Pour this over the dal and mix well.
Top with lots of coriander leaves,
Serve with rice.

|add in grated beetroots|
|add in shallots, garlic and green chilli|
|cover with water|
|cover with a lid and cook|
|now it is done|
|add in salt|
|heat oil or ghee in a small pan|
|add in cumin seeds|
|add in curry leaves|
|pour seasoning over the dal|
