    Easy Homemade Marshmallow

    Making Homemade Marshmallows is my dream, but i kind of stayed away from it because i thought it is kind of complicated and it calls for corn syrup and sugar thermometer..But recently i stumbled upon a recipe which catched my eye. Guess what immediately i tried it and it turned out great...

    Ingredients for Easy Homemade Marshmallow Recipe

    • Gelatin - 2 tbsp
    • Cold Water - 8 tbsp
    • Sugar - 2 cups / 400 grams
    • Cold Water - ½ cup / 120 ml
    • Salt - ¼ tsp
    • Vanilla Essence - 2 tsp
    • Cornflour / Cornstarch - 5 tbsp
    • Icing Sugar / Confectioners Sugar - 5 tbsp
     

    Even though i am satisfied with the results, i did few mistakes in making them, I have listed them in my notes section so you can make perfect batch of it..These marshmallows was spongy, fluffy and like a perfect marshmallow..

     
     
    Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..

    How to Make Easy Homemade Marshmallow

    1. Mix cornflour and icing sugar in a bowl and set aside.
    2. Line a 8 inch square pan with plastic wrap, dust cornflour and sugar mix over it. Set aside.
    3. Take gelatin in a bowl, add in 8 tbsp of cold water over it. Let them soak for 10 mins.
    4. Now take sugar, remaining water in a sauce pan. Mix well. Add in gelatin mix and mix well.
    5. Put this on heat and bring it to a good boil.
    6. Now pour this in a bowl and add in salt, vanilla.
    7. Leave this to turn warm.
    8. Use a beater to whip this till it gets light, fluffy and pale. It will take around 15 mins.
    9. Now pour this in the prepared pan and dust with the cornflour sugar mix.
    10. Leave it to set overnight.
    11. Now remove the marshmallow from tray and use a knife to cut this.
    12. Coat each one in cornflour sugar mix and store in air tight container.
    13. Enjoy.

    Ingredients

    • 2 tbsp Gelatin

    Notes

    1)Line the tray which you are going to set this with plastic wrap and dust them well. So you can remove the set marshmallows easily.
    2)Always coat them in a good amount of cornflour and sugar mix well. So they dont stick to each other.
    3)Coat the knifes, spatula well with cornflour and sugar mix so nothing sticks.
    4)You can store this in air tight container for a week in room temp.

    Easy Homemade Marshmallow Recipe Step by Step

    Take all your ingredients
    Start by blooming the gelatin, take gelatin in a bowl
    cover with some cold water and let it rest for 10 mins
    Now it has turned soft
    Take sugar in a sauce pan
    add in water
    mix well
     
    Add in the gelatin mix
    Mix well
    Put it on heat
    Bring it to a good boil
    Once it reaches a boil
    Pour it into a big glass bowl
    add in salt
    vanilla essence
    mix well and let it get warm
    Meanwhile prepare a pan..First line the pan with some plastic wrap. i didn't line it so i found it difficult in un moulding..
    Then sprinkle with some cornflour and icing sugar mix
    sift it all over the tray..
    Now the mix is warm, remove the scum on top
     
    use a beater to whip it up
    keep whipping
    keep whipping
    whipping..
    keep whipping, it will get thicker
    look how it has got thick
     
    done
    Pour it in the tray
     
    Dip a spatula in water
    use that to remove the mix
    Now it is all done
    spread the mix evenly
    dust the top with some more cornflour and icing sugar mix
    i allowed it to set overnight
    now sprinkle cornflour over the spatual
    and use that to lift the marshmallow
    dust your knife as well with the mix
    cut it into squares
    coat each one in the mix
     

     

    DONE
    Enjoy
    So soft and fluffy

      Aarti, thanks for the wonderful recipe. Actually if you line the tray with cling film and extend it to the outside part of the tray, you can easily lift it up and peel off when it is set.
