    Peanut Sundal Recipe / Verkadalai Sundal Recipe

    I should have posted this long before, but i ran out of time and i am rushing now, i still have few more recipes to be posted which i made for navrathri sorry for not sharing it before..Will post it in them coming weeks..

    Preparation Time : 15 mins
    Cooking Time : 10 mins + 45 mins for cooking channa
    Serves - 3 to 4

    Ingredients:

    Raw Peanuts - 1 cup
    Salt to taste
    Coconut - 3 tblspn finely grated ( Optional )
    Black pepper - 1 tsp crushed

    For Seasoning:
    Oil - 1 tblspn
    Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
    Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tsp
    Asafoetida / Kaya Podi / Hing - ¼ tsp
    Curry leaves - 1 sprig

    Method:

    Wash and soak peanuts in lots of water overnight. Drain the water and add it to pressure cooker. Cover with fresh water. Pressure cook it for 5 whistle. Then simmer for 20 mins. Now switch off the flame and let the steam go all by itself. Open the pressure cooker and drain the water and set aside.

    Heat oil in a kadai. Add in seasoning ingredients and saute for a min.

    Now add in cooked drained peanuts and mix well.

    Add in salt and toss well.

    Add in crushed pepper and mix well.

    Add coconut if needed and mix well.

    Serve.

    Now it must have been doubled in size

    drain them and take them in a pressure cooker

    cover with water

    Cook till it is completely done

    when you press a peanut between your fingers, it should mash up

    Now take your other ingredients

    Heat oil in a pan

    Add in mustard and urad dal

    saute for a min

    add in curry leaves

    sprinkle some asafoetida

    mix well

    add in cooked peanuts

    some salt

    stir for 5 mins or so

    Now it is all mixed up

    sprinkle some pepper

    and some coconut
