- 1 large Onion chopped finely
- 200 grams Paneer cubed
- 2 cups Frozen Peas
- 1 cup Coriander leaves / Cilantro
- ½ cup Yogurt
- ½ cup Milk / Heavy Cream
- 10 Cashew
- 2 Green chilli-2
- 1 tablespoon Coriander powder / Malli podi
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds / Jeera
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 3 tablespoon Oil
MATAR PANEER (CREAM SAUCE)
Heat oil in a kadai and fry the paneer pieces till golden brown..Drain it and soak it in water till ready to use.
Add cashews and onions in the remaining oil and fry till golden brown.
Drain this and put it in the blender along with coriander leaves and green chilli and make it into a fine paste.
Now add cumin seeds to the remaining oil and crackle it.
Add the ground masala to this..Add coriander powder,garam masala powder,salt and sugar and mix well.
Cook till oil separates.Throw in the frozen peas and peas and mix well.
Add required amount of water and bring that to boil..Simmer and cook till the peas is cooked.
Mix in the curd and milk in this...Bring this to boil and simmer for 5 mins.
Serve hot with roti..
Tips & Tricks
- Use fresh peas for best taste. But if it is out of season you can substitute with frozen peas.
- Homemade paneer taste delicious in matar paneer.
- You can adjust the spicy level in matar paneer totally to your taste.
- Matar paneer can be made and stored in fridge upto 2 to 4 days.
