Easy Jerk Chicken Recipe


I have been eyeing on this recipe for quite a long time and yesterday i got a chance to make and this and i am telling you, it is delicious..I made this and served with mushroom baked pasta, i even shared a picture in my instagram

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 40 to 45 mins
Serves : 2 to 3

Ingredients:

Chicken Thighs or Chicken Drumsticks - 4 pieces (with skin is best)

For Marination:
Onion - 1 large chopped toughly
Ginger - 3 cm piece peeled and chopped
Garlic - 5 cloves 
Green Chillies - 2 to 4 
Red Chilli Powder -  2 tsp or to taste
Cinnamon powder / Pattai - 1 tsp
Nutmeg Powder / Jathikai - 1/2 tsp
Clove Powder / Krambu- 1/2 tsp
Honey - 2 to 3 tblspn
Oil - 4 tblspn
Lemon Juice - 2 tblspn
Soy Sauce - 1 tblspn
Salt to taste

Method:

Take all marination ingredients in a blender and make it into a fine puree.

Take your chicken and make slashes all over it. 

Pour marination over it and mix well. Leave it to marinate overnight or for 2 to 3 hours.

Preheat oven to 180 degree C.

Line a baking tray with foil or parchment. Place chicken in it and bake for 30 to 45 mins till done.

In the last 1 min, turn the grill on to 250 degree C, and grill this for 1 mins till it gets nice colour over it.

Serve hot.

add in honey

Add in chilli powder

and some salt

pour in lemon juice

time to blend

make it into a fine puree

take your chicken

make some slashes to it

pour the marination over it

mix well and leave to marinate

I cooked 2 pieces instantly

Look how gorgeous it looks

This is the chicken the next day

I lined a big tray with parchment

Placed chicken over it

cooked till golden

look how yummy it looks

  4. @Priyangaa Satishyou can pan fry with little oil in a tawa or grill pan on very low heat till it is cooked

    This looks great can't wait to try it!
    I just wanted to ask a question related to oven temperature: You say to preheat oven to 180 degree C. Is your oven a fan-assisted oven or conventional? I have a fan-assisted oven at home so not sure if I need to reduce the temperatures that you say or not.
