    Chicken Pot Pie Recipe - Homemade Chicken Pie From Scratch with step wise pictures.

    Chicken Pot Pie Recipe - Homemade Chicken Pie From Scratch

    Super delicious chicken pot pie which is easy to make at home than buying from shop. It will be a great appetizer or light lunch for any parties too.

    Ingredients

    FOR PASTRY:

    • All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1 cup
    • Cold Butter - 50 grams cubed
    • Salt to taste
    • Cold Water as needed

    FOR CHICKEN:

    • Butter - 1 tblsp
    • Oil - 1 tblsp
    • Boneless Chicken - 500 grams
    • Dried Rosemary - 1 tsp
    • Cayenne Powder - 1 tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • All Purpose Flour / Maida - 2 tblsp

    FOR FILLING:

    • Butter - 2 tblsp
    • Garlic - 1 tblsp minced
    • Onion - 1 chopped finely
    • Carrot - 1 chopped finely
    • Bell Pepper - 1 chopped finely
    • Salt to taste
    • Black Pepper to taste
    • All Purpose Flour / Maida - 2 tblsp
    • Milk - 2 cups
    • Frozen Peas - ½ cup
    • Chopped Parsley or Coriander - 2 tblsp

    Instructions

    • Make pastry dough. Take flour in a bowl. Add salt and mix well.
    • Add in butter and rub it into the flour. Add cold water and shape it into a dough. Chill in fridge for 1 hour.
    • Mix chicken with rosemary, salt, all purpose flour and cayenne.
    • Heat oil and butter in a pan, fry chicken till golden brown. Remove and set aside.
    • Heat more butter in the same pan, add garlic, onion, carrot and peppers. Saute for a min.
    • Add in flour, salt, pepper and mix well.
    • Add milk and mix well.
    • Add in chicken and frozen peas and simmer for 10 to 15 mins.
    • Add chopped parsley and mix well.
    • Now cool this mix. Preheat oven to 200 degree C.
    • Take a portion of the dough and roll it into a sheet.
    • Spoon it into individual pan and top with the rolled pastry sheet,'Make holes in the top. seal the edges.
    • Pop it in oven and bake for 25 to 30 mins till golden.
    • Remove and serve.

    6)Meanwhile make the filling. Take boneless chicken in a bowl

    7)Add rosemary

    8)Add little cayenne powder

    9)Add in flour

    10)Add in salt

    12)Heat little butter and oil in a pan

    13)Add chicken in

    14)Separate the chicken and cook till chicken is golden on both side.

    15)Chicken is done. Remove the chicken to a bowl

    16) Heat butter in the same pan. Add grated garlic

    17)Saute for a min

    18)Add in chopped onions, carrot and capsicum

    19)Mix well

    20)Add salt to taste

    21)Mix well

    22)Add in flour

    23)Mix well. Cook till raw smell leaves

    24)Add in pepper

    25)Add milk

    26)Mix well

    27)Add cooked chicken in

    28)Add frozen peas

    29)Cover and cook on low heat

    31)Add in chopped coriander leaves

    32)Mix well. Set aside so the filling can cool.

    33)Take half of the dough

    34)Roll it

    35)Spoon the chicken filling into the pot

    36)Place the rolled pastry over the pot

    37)Seal the edges with fork

    39)Prick three holes on top

    40)Time to bake
