Coconut Poli Recipe – Thengai Poli Recipe

Coconut Poli is a delicious stuffed poli which taste amazing. It is so easy to make and is great for any festive occasions.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 1 hour
Makes : 12 to 15 

Ingredients:

For Dough:
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 1 cup
Water as needed
Salt a pinch
Ghee – 1 tsp

For Filling:
Jaggery / Sarkarai / Palm Sugar – 1.5 cup
Water – 1/2 cup
Fresh Coconut – 1.5 cup grated
Cardamom Powder / Yelakai podi- 1 tsp
Ghee – 1 tsp

Method:
Take coconut in a blender and pulse it few times till it is fine.

Take jaggery and water in a sauce pan and heat till it is melted. Strain and set aside.

Pour this back into the same kadai. Add in coconut and mix well.

Keep cooking this till it is thick. Add in cardamom powder, ghee and mix well. Remove this to a bowl and allow it to cool down.

Now make the dough. Take water and ghee in a bowl and mix well. Add flour andsalt and make a soft dough.let it rest for 15 mins. 

Divide dough and filling into equal balls. Take a dough and place filling in it, flatten it and roll it into a roti.

Place this in a hot pan, cook till golden on both sides.

Serve.

take it in a kadai
add in coconut
mix well
bring it to a boil
cook for few mins till it gets thick
Cook till the mix is thick
Done
Add in cardamom powder
some ghee
mix well
remove it to a bowl and let it cool..
Start by making dough, take water in a bowl
add salt

add some ghee
add maida / all purpose flour
knead to a soft dough and let this rest for 15 mins
divide the dough and filling into equal portion
roll it into a ball
take the dough and flatten it gently
place filling 
seal the edges
flatten it
spread it out
done
place the paratha on a hot tawa
flip over and cook
spread ghee
cook till golden on both sides
Serve
