This Eggless atta cookies or eggless wheat cookies is basic recipe made with butter, sugar, flour. I added some tutti fruitti which is like candied fruits for give chewy texture when you bite into it.

I am sure many of you will be asking for eggless wheat cookies. So I think these will be perfect. I used butter, sugar and also added a little milk to the cookie dough to bring every ingredient together and make the cookies extra delicious.

You can also easily change the flavour based on your preference. Add chopped nuts, chocolate chips, raisins or a little vanilla extract, cinnamon powder to the cookie dough. These simple additions give the cookies a different taste and make it easy to enjoy a new version each time you bake them.

    Ingredients

    • Wheat flour : I used whole wheat flour to make these yummy butter cookies.
    • Sugar : Sugar added for the sweetness for your cookies. Powder the sugar before starting to make the dough.
    • Unsalted butter : I prefer using unsalted butter for these cookies, as it gives a rich and buttery flavour.
    • Baking powder : A small amount of baking powder added to help the cookies rise slightly while baking.
    • Salt : A pinch of salt added to balance the sweetness and enhance the buttery flavour.
    • Tutti frutti : I added tutti frutti to give these cookies a colourful look and a little fruity sweetness.
    • Milk : A little milk is added to bring the cookie dough together.

    Step by Step Pictures

1)Start by blending sugar in a blender so it is fine.

2)You can use icing sugar instead of powdered sugar too.

3)Preheat oven to 180 degree C (356 degree F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Take butter, powdered sugar in a bowl.

4)Mix well until it gets creamy and fluffy.

    5)Add in wheat flour.

6)Add in baking powder and salt.

7)I also added some tutti frutti. You can use candied fruits or nuts and mix well.

    8)Now it resembles coarse crumbs.

9)add spoonful of milk and make it into a dough.

10)Now it has formed into a dough. You can shape it however you like.

11)I rolled the dough into a rectangle.

    12)Cut into cubes.

13)These are easy way to cut out cookies. You can gently lift them using a spatula.

14)Or you can take small portion from it.

15)roll it out and flatten it lightly.

16)Now arrange this in baking tray and pop it in oven and bake for 12 to 15  mins.

17)Now the cookies are baked. Remove it from oven and cool it down for 5 mins. Remove the cookies and place it in cooling rack and let it cool down completely.

18)Store it in air tight container and serve with milk.

    Expert Tips

    • Make sure the butter is at room temperature, as this helps in making a soft and smooth cookie dough.
    • Gently mix the dough together, overkneading the dough can make the cookies hard.
    • You can also replace tutti frutti with chocolate chips, raisins or chopped nuts of your choice.
    • Add milk gradually, as you may need only a small amount depending on the flour and butter.
    • Add a little cardamom powder, cinnamon powder or vanilla essence to enhance the flavour of the cookies.

    Storage and Serving

Allow the baked cookies to cool completely before storing them. Keep them in a clean, airtight jar at room temperature for a week.

These wheat butter cookies are delicious with a cup of hot tea, coffee or milk. Serve for kids school snack boxes and also perfect for gifting during festivals and special occasions.

    FAQ

    Q. Can I use maida instead of whole wheat flour ?

Absolutely ! You can use maida instead of whole wheat flour.

    Q. Do I need to chill the cookie dough ?

Chilling the dough is not necessary for this recipe. However, if you prefer, you can chill the dough for about 15 minutes. This helps the cookies hold their shape better while baking.

    Q. Why are my cookies hard ?

Cookies can turn hard if the dough is overkneaded or the cookies are baked for too long. Make sure to bake them only until they are lightly golden.

Yes, you can add vanilla essence, cardamom powder, cinnamon powder for extra flavour. You can also mix chopped nuts to the dough or press them on top of the cookies before baking.
