    Saffron Shrikhand Recipe

    Want to make something easy for parties, This is so rich and creamy. You can make this for 2 people or for 20 people. It can be easily modified and adapted. This recipe is so much versatile, you can add whatever nuts or whatever fruits you like. 

    The saffron and cardamom added to this makes this so much flavourful. Some of the variation you can do to this recipe is, you can add some pureed mangoes and mix with the yogurt. That makes it mango shrikhand. I hope you will love this as much as i do and let me know what you think.

    How to Make Saffron Shrikhand Recipe

    Line a colander with cheese cloth and place that in a large bowl, Pour in yogurt and place this whole setup in fridge and let it drain overnight. The next day you will get thick set hung yogurt.

    Take saffron in a bowl and pour over 1 tblspn of warm milk. Leave this to stand for 5 mins.

    Take hung yogurt in a bowl and add in sugar, cardamom powder, saffron milk, nuts and pomegranate. Mix this well.

    Spoon this into individual serving bowl. Put this in fridge for a couple of hours and enjoy cold.

    Ingredients

    • Yogurt - ½ litre / 500 ml Click link for recipe
    • Icing Sugar - 4 tblspn or to taste
    • Saffron - ½ tsp
    • Warm milk - 1 tblspn
    • Cardamom Powder / Yelakai - 1 tsp
    • Walnuts / Almonds / Pista - ½ cup
    • Pomegranate Kernels - 3 tblspn or more

    This is how it looks the next day
     

     

    Take all your ingredients
     

     

    This is hung yogurt
     

     

    Take milk in a small cup
     

     

    Add saffron to this
     

     

    Take yogurt in a bowl
     

     

    Add in sugar
     

     

    Mix this well
     

     

    Pour in saffron milk
     

     

    Mix this around
     

     

    Add in cardamom powder
     

     

    Mix well
     

     

    Add in nuts and pomegranate
     

     

    Mix well
     

     

    Serve
