    Spiced Up French Fries / French Fries – Indian Style

    I know that we all love French fries .But this is a little special ones because they are boost up with spices which takes your daily fries to the next level..I hope you all will love it and let me know if you have any questions..Check out the step by step recipes with pictures..




    Ingrediants:

    Potatoes-5 large
    Chilli powder-1 tsp
    Coriander powder / Malli podi-1 tblspn
    Turmeric powder / Manjal podi-1 tsp
    Rice Flour / Arisi Mavu-3 tblspn
    Gram Flour / Besan / Kadala Mavu-3 tblspn
    Salt to taste
    Ajinomoto / MSG-1 tsp(optional)
    Oil for deep frying
    Curry leaves-a handful


    Method:

    Peel potatoes and slice it in the shape of French fries...Put that in a colander and rinse well so that all starch from the potatoes goes away..

    Take that in a bowl..Add in all ingrediants except oil...

    Sprinkle some water and mix well..

    Heat oil for deep frying and fry this in batches till golden brown..It will take around 5 to 8 minutes..

    Drain on a kitchen paper..Now fry some curry leaves in the same oil and put it over the potatoes..Toss well..

    Serve hot.

      Looks like you have improved upon a classic here, good job.
      When I make french fries I use two steps. First cook them in cooler oil (300F) then drain them. Second, when ready to serve I jack up the temp to 375F and brown them. It makes perfect french fries.
      I want to try your recipe here, I bet it will be grand.
      When I started reading your title I thought you would just give a spice blend to sprinkle over the finished french fries, but this will be superb.
