Butter Cookies Recipe / Eggless Butter Cookies


I have quite a few cookies recipes in my blog. But Its been a while since i baked some cookies.So decided to try out some cookies, i got so many request to bake some butter cookies from my viewers. So decided to try it. And my goodness the result was amazing. My little sister loved it so much, specially she liked the pure white colour of this cookies.


I used  white butter in this recipe, but you could use yellow butter too. I think the colour may vary a little. I have plans to bake butter cookies with eggs too, will try that in the nearest future and let you know the results. So keep checking my blog and let me know if you try this..



Preparation Time : 10 mins
Baking Time : 18 to 20 mins
Makes : 15 to 18 Cookies

Ingredients:


Butter - 150 grams / 1/3 pound softened & at room temp
Sugar - 3/4 cup / 150 grams powdered
All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1.5 cup / 180 gram
Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
Baking soda - 1/4 tsp


Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 Degree C / 360 Degree F.

Take flour, baking soda and baking powder in a bowl and mix them well. Set this aside till use.

Now in a another mixing bowl. Take butter and powdered sugar. Cream this well so it turns fluffy.

Now add in the flour mixture and mix well so it forms  a soft dough.

Now pinch small portions from it and shape them into balls.

Arrange this in a foil lined baking sheet. 

Press them little with your fingers. Use a fork to make some impression on them. 

Now pop them in a preheated oven and bake for 18 to 20 mins.

Remove them and let them cool slightly.

Now remove them to cooling rack and let them cool completely.

Store them in air tight container and serve with milk.

  17. Thanks so much... Just baked them and they turned out beautiful.. . Got a nice compliment from dad... He says it tastes like Shrewsbury biscuits 😀😊:) did a few adjustments like used Amul butter and added milk and vanilla essence... thanks again :)

    I have a combination oven.. so I can bake this in convection mode right? Also, do I need to use a grill rack to place the plate on. If yes, then should it be the shorter or taller rack

  25. Hi Aarti .. Your blog is great! I've used quite a few recipe. I had a doubt. Can the cookie dough be refrigerated if not being used entirely in the same day ? If yes how long would it be good in the fridge? Fridge or freezer?

    Love ur blog, I have tried this recipe, but turned brown in 10mins time once I kept in oven. I have melted the butter and added, is it bcoz it turned brown?

  28. Hi Aarthi I tried to bake the cookies but it got burnt in the bottom .. I lined the tray with foil .. And used the exact measurements and temperature .. Can u pls tell me what might have went wrong ..??? It tasted amazing except that the bottom started to burn after few mins and the top was still to cook .. I use a Morphy Richards OTG
