Homemade Urad Dal Flour / How to Make Urad dal Flour at Home

Diwali is around the corner and i know you all will be bashing your heads for what to do for diwali. I have started posting recipes for diwali, and i have created a collage for your on my sidebar featuring all diwali sweets and snacks. If you haven't checked it out yet, take a look at it.

When you think of diwali snacks, muruku is the thing which comes in your mind first. I have a recipe for mullu muruku but there are so many other muruku too. I am going to post a couple of them for this diwali, so stay tuned. And when you want to make muruku, you need urad dal flour. You can find them at stores, but making them at home is not at all a big deal. Here is the recipe and make it in bulk so you can have them handy when you want to make diwali snacks.

Cooking Time : 15 to 20 mins
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Makes : Little more than 2 cups

Whole White Urad dal  - 2 cup

Take a heavy bottom kadai. Add in urad dal and start roasting on a low flame till it is roasted.

Now remove it to a plate and allow it to cool down.

Once cooled take it in a trusty blender and powder it finely.

Now sift them. You can add the coarse mixture to the next batch which you grind.

Spread it on a newspaper. Allow it to cool down. Store this in a air tight container.

Use it for your snacks.
