Quick Egg Roast Recipe / Egg, Urad Dal Roast Recipe / Spicy Egg Roast Recipe

This is one of the recipe which my friend gave me. She told me that boiled eggs can be made into this lovely roast in minutes. Urad dal is the key ingredients n this recipe, it really makes it more tasty. This roast goes very well with plain rasam rice..Try this and let me know how it turned out for you..

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 3 to 5 mins
Serves : 3 to 4


Eggs - 5 Hard Boiled
Oil - 1 tblspn
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tblspn
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste


Heat oil in a kadai. Add in mustard seeds and let them pop. 

Once they pop, add in urad dal and fry till golden. Now add in chilli powder, salt and turmeric powder all in one go.

Immediately after adding the spices, add in eggs and turn off the stove.

Mix well and serve with rice and rasam.

Take all your ingredients
Heat oil in a kadai

Add in mustard seeds

once they pop add in urad dal

let them turn golden

add in turmeric, salt and chilli powder

let them bloom

Immediately add the cooked eggs, turn off the heat

toss well



  1. You can also use good amount of crushed black pepper in this recipe n instead of mustard n urad dal must add a little bit of cinnamon stick n cloves.
