    Aam Ka Panna Recipe with step by step pictures. This is a sweet, tangy and refreshing Indian summer drink made using raw green mangoes.

    Aam Ka Panna

    This has become one of my latest thirst quencher on this hot summer days. Love it so much, it is pretty easy to make and once you make the preserve, you can keep it for 2 weeks in fridge or more if you freeze them individually in ice cube trays.

    Ingredients for Aam Ka Panna

    • Raw Mango - 1 large or two medium size
    • Black Salt / Kala Namak - 2 tsp or to taste
    • Sugar or Jaggery - 1 cup
    • Roasted Cumin Powder / Jeera Powder - 1.5 tsp or to taste
    • Fresh Mint Leaves for serving
    • Water - 1 cup
    • Ice Cubes & Ice Water for serving

    Try to use little sour mangoes for this which has the tart taste which balances nice with the sugar and the spices..If your mangoes are not that tart, you can add extra lemon juice in this. You can even add some crushed mint leaves in this for more flavour.

    How to Make Aam Ka Panna

    1. Take mango, cut them into big pieces, take them in pressure cooker.
    2. Add in 1 cup of water. Cover and pressure cook for 5 whistle., simmer the flame for 5 mins.
    3. Turn off the heat and let the steam go all by itself. Open the cooker and let the mango cool down.
    4. Now take the mangoes out and remove the pulp from it using a spoon into a bowl, add the cooking liquid from pressure cooker as well.
    5. Now take mango pulp in a blender and puree till smooth.
    6. Take it in a bowl, add in sugar, black salt, cumin powder and mix well.
    7. Put this in fridge and let it chill.
    8. When serving add required amount of syrup in a jug, top with ice cubes and ice water. Mix really well and serve.

    • 1.5 tsp or to taste Roasted Cumin Powder / Jeera Powder
    • Fresh Mint Leaves for serving

    Notes

    1)Once you make the preserve, you can keep it for 2 weeks in fridge or more if you freeze them individually in ice cube trays.
    2)Try to use little sour mangoes for this which has the tart taste which balances nice with the sugar and the spices..If your mangoes are not that tart, you can add extra lemon juice in this.
    3)You can even add some crushed mint leaves in this for more flavour.
    4)Cooking mangoes with skin is important, this make the flavour of raw mango stands out.
    5)You can add jaggery instead of sugar in this

    Aam Ka Panna Recipe Step by Step

    You need a raw mango..Wash them really well

     

    Cut it and take it in a pressure cooker

     

    add water

     

    pressure cook till done

     

    let it cool down, now remove the pulp alone

     

    This is the mango pulp, i added the water from the pressure cooker as well in this

     

    take it in a blender

     

    puree till smooth

     

    add in black salt

     

     

    add a good amount of it

     

    add in sugar

     

    and some roasted cumin powder

     

    mix well

     

    chill this till cold

     

    take a jug

     

    take spoonful of this syrup

     

    add it to jug

     

    pour in ice cold water

     

    mix really well

     

    drop few fresh mint leaves
