Black Eyed Peas Sundal Recipe – Karamani Sundal Recipe with step wise pictures.Easy black eyed peas sundal which is not only healthy but it is highly nutritious. Make this for navrathri and enjoy.Navrathri is around the corner and its time to make sundal recipes. I have shared quite a few recipes for sundal. But i have few more sundal recipes to make as well. I have already picked all the pulses which i need and will be sharing sundal recipes soon.This one is made using karamani, one of my favourite pulses. I have quite a few recipes online too.

Black Eyed Peas Sundal

Ingredients

  • Black Eyed Peas - 1 cup
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Dry Red Chilli - 1
  • Curry leaves a handful
  • Asafoetida a pinch
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Soak black eyed peas for 4 to 6 hours. Drain and add to pressure cooker, add salt and pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistle. Drain it and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard, urad dal and let it sizzle.
  • Add in curry leaves, dry red chilli and asofoetida.
  • Add in black eyed peas and salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Serve,

Pictorial:

1)Soak black eyed peas for 4 to 6 hours.Take black eyed peas in a pressure cooker.

2)Cover with water

3)Add in salt

4)Pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistle. Set aside and let the pressure escape all by itself.

5)Heat oil in a pan

6)Add in mustard and urad dal

7)Once it pops

8)Add in dry red chilli and curry leaves

9)Add in asafoetida

10)Let it sizzle

11)Add in cooked black eyed peas

12)Mix well

13)Add salt as needed.

14)Mix well

15)Serve
