- Black Eyed Peas - 1 cup
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Dry Red Chilli - 1
- Curry leaves a handful
- Asafoetida a pinch
- Salt to taste
- Soak black eyed peas for 4 to 6 hours. Drain and add to pressure cooker, add salt and pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistle. Drain it and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard, urad dal and let it sizzle.
- Add in curry leaves, dry red chilli and asofoetida.
- Add in black eyed peas and salt.
- Mix well.
1)Soak black eyed peas for 4 to 6 hours.Take black eyed peas in a pressure cooker.
2)Cover with water
3)Add in salt
4)Pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistle. Set aside and let the pressure escape all by itself.
5)Heat oil in a pan
6)Add in mustard and urad dal
7)Once it pops
8)Add in dry red chilli and curry leaves
9)Add in asafoetida
10)Let it sizzle
11)Add in cooked black eyed peas
13)Add salt as needed.
