    Salt and Pepper Tofu Recipe

    Chinese Salt and Pepper Tofu Recipe with step by step pictures. This is made with Tofu, salt and pepper. It is a popular restaurant dish which has the main seasoning of salt and pepper tossed in crispy tofu.

    Chinese Salt and Pepper Tofu

    Salt and Pepper tofu is an easy and simple appetizer you can make. Crispy tofu tossed with lots of ginger, garlic, onions and peppers makes it taste wonderful....Loved it to the core..

    Ingredients for Chinese Salt and Pepper Tofu

    • Tofu - 200 grams
    • Salt to taste
    • Pepper to taste
    • Cornflour - 3 to 4 tbsp
    • Oil - 4 to 5 tbsp
    For Masala:
    • Oil - 1 tbsp
    • Garlic - 2 tablespoon finely chopped
    • Ginger - 2 tablespoon finely chopped
    • Onion - 1 large chopped finely
    • Capsicum / Bell Pepper - 1 chopped finely
    • Soy Sauce - 2 tsp
    • Sugar - 1 tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Pepper to taste

    How to make Chinese Salt and Pepper Tofu

    1. Cut tofu into big cubes. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with cornflour and toss well. Heat oil in a pan, drop in tofu and fry till crispy and golden. Drain and set aside.
    2. In the same pan, add a tblspn of oil, add in ginger, garlic, onion, capsicum and saute till golden. Add in sugar and mix well..Add in soy sauce and mix well.
    3. Now add in the fried tofu and salt and pepper. Toss well.
    4. Serve hot with some chopped spring onions.

    Ingredients

    Chinese Salt and Pepper Tofu Recipe step by step picture 

     
    Take all your ingredients
    Take your soy paneer or tofu
    i used a block of it
    cut it like this
    cut it into big cubes
     
    season with salt and pepper
    mix well
    sprinkle over some cornflour
    toss well
    drop it in hot oil
    flip over and cook till golden brown
    now it is all fried
    once it is crispy
    drain it 
    drain most of the oil and keep a tblspn of oil..add in onions, capsicum, garlic, ginger
    sprinkle some sugar
    Toss well..
    cook till golden
    add in soy sauce
    mix well
    add in tofu
    toss well
    sprinkle over salt and pepper
    toss well
    Serve
