    Scrambled Tofu (Tofu Bhurji Recipe)

    Tofu Bhurji Recipe is one of the easy recipe to make with tofu and goes well with roti, phulka or even Toasted bread. Tofu bhurji is also known as scrambled tofu or tofu scramble which is made with onions, spices, tomatoes, chickpea flour and milk. Leftover Bhurji can be made into this delicious tofu bhurji sandwich. In this recipe you will find a simple trick to make the creamiest and flavourful tofu bhurji of all time.

    Coming back to todays recipe. If you need any quick side dish or thinking to go healthy on that day then make this. This dish has tons of protein in it since tofu is packed completely with protein. I always prefer tofu for paneer. Since it is healthy and high in protein. You don't need to feel guilty while having this. Leftover Bhurji can be made into this delicious tofu bhurji sandwich.

    About Tofu Bhurji

    Tofu is also known as soy paneer, it is made with soy beans and is packed with protein. Tofu is low in fat and high in protein which is preferred by body builders and nutritionist. It is super popular among vegans and vegetarians. Naturally tofu can be pretty bland on its own, but it tends to absorb all the flavours you put into it.

    This tofu bhurji is a delicious way to cook with tofu. It has spices like cumin, garlic, chillies and onions to flavour the tofu. And there is two ingredient which helps to make the creamy tofu bhurji of all time.

    I used chickpea flour and milk in this recipe which makes the dish super creamy and flavourful. Check out My Homemade Tofu Recipe. Leftover Bhurji can be made into this delicious tofu bhurji sandwich.

    Ingredients

    Onion - You can use red onion, white onion or shallots for this recipe. It adds aroma and taste.

    Tomato - Tomato form base for the gravy. It taste delicious and create a tangy base for the curry.

    Tofu - Tofu is also known as soy paneer, it is made with soy beans and is packed with protein. Tofu is low in fat and high in protein which is preferred by body builders and nutritionist. It is super popular among vegans and vegetarians. Naturally tofu can be pretty bland on its own, but it tends to absorb all the flavours you put into it.

    Spice Powders - chilli powder, garam masala powder and turmeric is what I used, you can use any mix you like pav bhaji masala or chana masala.

    Chickpea Flour - It adds creamy texture to the gravy and increase taste.

    Milk - you can use regular milk, soy milk or unsweetened almond milk to form the curry.

    How to Make Scrambled Tofu Recipe (Tofu Bhurji)

    Heat oil in a kadai. Add in cumin seeds and let it crackle. Now add in garlic, onions, green chillies and mix well. Cook until it gets light golden.

    Add in all chilli, turmeric, garam masala powder and mix well. Add in tomatoes and cook until it turns mushy.

    Now add in gram flour and mix well. Add the scrambled tofu and mix well. Pour in milk and mix well. It will form the gravy. Cook everything for 5 mins . Garnish with coriander leaves and mix well. Serve with roti.

    Stepwise Pictures

    1)I am using Firm tofu for this recipe. Crumble tofu into fine shreds and set aside.

    2)Heat oil in a kadai. Add in cumin seeds and let it crackle.

    3)Now add in garlic, green chillies and mix well. Cook until it gets light golden.

    4)Add in finely chopped onions and cook until it is well cooked.

    5)Add salt so the onions cook faster.

    6)Add in all chilli, turmeric, garam masala powder and mix well.

    7)let the spices bloom for few seconds.

    8)Add in tomatoes and cook until it turns mushy.

    9)Now the tomatoes has softened.

    10)Add in gram flour and stir fry for few minutes.

    11)Now the base is cooked well.

    12)Add the scrambled tofu and mix well.

    13)Now the tofu has mixed well into the curry.

    14)Pour in milk into the gravy. This will form the gravy.

    15)Cook everything for 5 mins .

    16)Garnish with coriander leaves and mix well. Serve with roti.

    17)Enjoy.

    Ingredients
      

    • 200 grams Tofu scrambled
    • 1 tablespoon Oil
    • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
    • 2 tablespoon Garlic peeled and chopped finely
    • 1 no Green chillies chopped finely
    • 1 large Onion chopped finely
    • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
    • ½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
    • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
    • 2 medium Tomatoes chopped finely
    • 1 tablespoon Gram Flour (Chickpea Flour)
    • ¾ cup Milk
    • 3 tablespoon Coriander leaves chopped finely
    • Salt to taste

    Instructions
     

    • Heat oil in a kadai. Add in cumin seeds and let it crackle. Add in garlic and green chillies and saute for a minute. Now add in onions, salt and cook until it gets light golden.
    • Add in all spice powder and mix well. Add in tomatoes and cook until it turns mushy.
    • Now sprinkle in the gram flour and stir fry for a min. Add the scrambled tofu and mix well. Pour in milk and combine to form the gravy. Cook everything for 5 mins . Garnish with coriander leaves and mix well. Serve with roti.

      Tofu is only as nice as the ingredients you put in, I think it does not have much taste on its own. This one looks really delicious.
