Gulkand Phirni Recipe - Rose Preserve Rice Pudding Recipe with step wise pictures.
Delicious creamy gulkand phirni which has tons of rose flavour. It just perfumes through out the phirni and makes it more delicious.
Gulkand is hubby's favorite, it is very recently i discovered it. He loves everything rose flavoured. I have never tried gulkand before, it is very recently i tried a gulkand flavoured kulfi and fell in love with it. That inspired me to try out few recipes using that. I bought a packet of gulkand immediately and made this. It was delicious, i am planning to make few more recipes as well.
For those who are new to gulkand, it is nothing but rose preserves or rose jam.
It has many health benefits in them as well.

2)Improves memory & eye sight. Very good for kids.
3)Improves skin tone.
4)Best during summer, cools body.
5)Anti bacterial, Anti-inflammatory, Cardio-tonic, Anti oxidant.

7)When mixed with warm milk and had before bed time, it helps in improving sleep.

Gulkand Phirni Recipe
- Basmati Rice - ½ cup
- Water - ½ cup
- Milk - 3 to 4 cups
- Sugar - ½ cup or to taste
- Gulkand - ½ cup
- Rose Extract few drops
- Pink Food Colour few drops
- Take rice in a bowl, soak for 1 to 2 hours. Drain and take it in a blender. Puree till smooth.
- Take the rice mix in a sauce pan, add milk and cook till rice is completely done.
- Add sugar and mix well. Take it off the heat and add in gulkand and mix well.
- Add rose extract and pink food colour. Mix well.
- Chill this before serving.
1)Take ½ cup basmati rice in a bowl
2)Soak it in water for 1 hour.
3)Take it in a blender
4)Puree till coarse
5)Take it in a pot
6)Add in milk
7)Cook it on low medium heat till rice is done.
8)Now rice is done.
9)Add in sugar
10)Mix well. Take it off the heat.
11)Add in kulkand
13)Add in few drops of rose extract
14)I added little pink food colour.
16)Serve cold or warm.
