Homemade Cake Flour
Cake flour is used in many cake and baked goodies recipes. Using this flour instead of regular all purpose flour results in soft fluffy cakes. It may be readily available in super markets. But making this at home is way more easier and quicker than you think. Plus it is cheaper.
The below picture is a yogurt muffin which i baked using this cake flour..you can see the texture, it is soft and pillowy. Will share that recipe soon. Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you.
About Cake Flour
Cake flour is a lighter form of baking flour made with plain flour and cornstarch. Even though cake flour is readily available nowadays. Making it at home is super easy and always results in lighter and fluffy cakes.
All you need is plain flour and cornstarch. There is a technique used to make cake flour with these 2 ingredients which I have shared below. You don't need any fancy equipments and stuffs to make homemade cake flour. I used my homemade cake flour to make eggless yogurt muffins which turned out super fluffy.

Ingredients
Plain flour - I used plain refined flour also known as all purpose flour or maida. You need 1 cup of plain flour.
Cornstarch - the next ingredients which is used in making cake flour is cornstarch.

Step by Step Pictures
1)take all your ingredients

2)Measure 1 cup of plain flour. 1 cup plain flour is around 120 grams.

3)take it in a bowl.

4)Now use a tablespoon measuring spoon to remove 2 tablespoon of the plain flour from the bowl.

5)I usually flatten the top of the spoon after removing.

6)2 tablespoon of plain flour should be removed from the 1 cup of plain flour.

7)Because we are going to replace it with 2 tablespoon cornstarch.

8)Now add in 2 tablespoon of cornstarch into the plain flour.

9)Cornstarch tenderises and lightens the cake. So using cake flour gives fluffy cake.

10)Now 2 tablespoon of cornstarch is added in.

11)Mix it really well. If you are making large batch, you can sieve it well.

12)Cake flour is ready.

13)You can use this in your baked goodies.

14)I used cake flour to make yogurt muffins and look how fluffy it looks.

Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 cup All Purpose Flour / Maida
- 2 tablespoon Cornstarch
Instructions
- Measure 1 cup flour in a bowl or sifter. Use a 1 tablespoon measuring spoon to Remove 2 tblspn of the flour from the measured one cup of flour. Now replace that with 2 tblspn of cornstarch.
- Mix well using a spatula or whisk or sieve it through a sieve.
- This recipe makes 1 cup of cake flour. Use as needed.

@Meerano this is cake flour. it is used in some cakes and cupcakes. But you have to add baking soda and baking powder as per the recipe. You can use this flour instead of all purpose flour. It gives you soft fluffy cakes
