Instant Pot Chicken Tahiri
Delicious spicy chicken and rice dish which is cooked in an instant pot. It is super easy to put together and taste delicious with some cooling raita.

How to Make Instant Pot Chicken Tahiri
- Mix chicken with the masala given. Leave to marinate for 30 mins.
- Wash and soak rice for 30 mins.
- Grind the ingredients given to a fine paste.
- Set instant pot mode to saute.
- Heat oil in a instant pot. Add in bay leaf, cardamom and let them sizzle.
- Add in onions and saute till golden.
- hicken and saute for 5 to 10 mins.
- Add in rice, salt and water and mix well.
- Now set the mode to cooking rice mode and cover and cook.
- Once it is done. Leave it for 10 mins. Now release the vent.
- Open the instant pot and mix the rice gently.
- Serve.

Instant Pot Chicken Tahiri Recipe (Tehri)
Ingredients
FOR CHICKEN:
- Chicken with bones - 500 grams
- Yogurt / Curd - ½ cup
- Salt to taste
- Ginger Garlic paste - 2 tblsp
- Chilli Powder - 1 tblsp
- Cumin Powder - 2 tsp
- Coriander Powder - 1 tblsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder - 1 tblsp
FOR GRINDING:
- Tomato - 2 chopped
- Green Chillies - 5
- Ginger Garlic paste - 2 tblsp
- Cinnamon - 1 stick
- Fennel Seeds / Saunf / Sombu - 1 tblsp
- Cardamom - 4
- Cloves - 4
- Star anise - 2
- Coriander Leaves - ½ cup
- Mint Leaves - ½ cup
FOR BIRYANI:
- Oil - ¼ cup
- Cardamom / Yelakai - 2
- Bay Leaf - 1
- Onion - 2 large sliced thinly
- Basmati Rice - 3 cups
- Salt to taste
- Water - 4.5 cups
Instructions
- Mix chicken with the masala given. Leave to marinate for 30 mins.
- Wash and soak rice for 30 mins.
- Grind the ingredients given to a fine paste.
- Set instant pot mode to saute.
- Heat oil in a instant pot. Add in bay leaf, cardamom and let them sizzle.

- Add in chicken and saute for 5 to 10 mins.
- Add in rice, salt and water and mix well.
- Now set the mode to cooking rice mode and cover and cook.

1)Take chicken in a bowl
2)Add in yogurt
3)Add in ginger garlic paste
4)chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder and coriander powder.
5)Add in salt
6)Mix well and leave to marinate for 30 mins.
7)Set instant pot to saute mode
8)Add in oil
9)Now grind the masala. Take tomatoes in a blender
10)Add in green chillies
11)Add in ginger garlic pate
12)Add in mint and coriander leaves
13)Add in whole spices
14)Grind till smooth
15)Add onions in instant pot.
16)Saute till golden. Add bay leaf and cardamom pods
17)Add in masala
18)Cook till oil separates
19)Add in salt.
20)Add chicken
21)Mix well
22)Add water
23)Add in soaked drained basmati rice
24)Bring it to a boil
25)Set this to rice mode and cook
26)Done

5 to 6 mins in manual/high pressure mode. or rice mode 10 mins. with 1:1.5 water or 1:2 depending on the rice
