    Puliyum Meenum Recipe

This is one of my friend jafrin's recipe and this is what i talked about in this fish masala powder post. I am glad that she told me about this dish, so i get a chance to try it and enjoy it..It is a finger licking delicious fish recipe..It is a masala kind of dish and spicy, tangy at the same time..Loved it..This is pretty simple to make as well.

    About this Recipe

Fish Thokku is a traditional fish recipe from the village. Thokku is similar to a semi-gravy recipe. It has a spicy and tangy flavour. Tamarind, also known as Imli in India, is a popular spice and condiment. Without tamarind, a South Indian kitchen is considered incomplete! It is used in many popular south Indian dishes, including
the well-known sambhar, rasam, and some chutneys. Tamarind, one of the most important souring agents in Thai cooking, adds a delicious fruity tartness to soups, salads, stir-fries, and sauces.

    Ingredients for Puliyum Meenum Recipe

    Sardine :
Sardines are a broad category of small fish. The Main sardines, which are caught off the coasts of Maine, are actually small, soft-boned herring. Sardine, also known as mathi and chaala, is inexpensive, tasty, and nutritious.

    Shallots :
Shallots are a little sweeter than regular onions and have a more subtle flavor. They are good used in raw applications where you want an onion flavor without too much punch, such as in salads and vinaigrettes, , or in slow roasted or braised dishes, where their sweetness can enhance a dish without watering it down.

    Tamarind Pulp  :
Tamarind pulp is a thick tamarind extract. To make tamarind pulp at home, soak the tamarind pods in warm water for about 15-20 minutes, or until soft.
