    Wheat Bran Energy Bars

    I had lots of wheat bran on hand, so decided to make a bran bar using that. Energy bars are great because they can be had a breakfast along with a glass of milk or as a snack whenever hunger strikes. This one is very chocolaty and taste really delicious.

    I used oatmeal and wheat bran in this bar and it is packed with nutrients. You can add any nuts as you like as well.

    Ingredients for Wheat Bran Energy Bar

    • Instant Oatmeal - 1 cup
    • Wheat Bran - 1 cup
    • Nutella - ¾ cup
    • Brown Sugar or Jaggery - ½ cup
    • Coconut Oil or Butter - ¼ cup
    • Flax seeds - 2 tblspn
    • Prunes or any dried fruits - ¼ cup chopped
    • (My 1 cup measures 240 ml)

    How to make Wheat Bran Energy Bars

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degree C.
    2. Line a 15 cm square baking pan with parchment paper. 
    3. Take nutella, brown sugar, oil in a sauce pan.
    4. Melt it gently so it melts.
    5. Take oats, bran, flax seeds and prunes in  a bowl and mix well.
    6. Add in nutella and mix well.
    7. Spoon this in to a baking pan and press evenly.
    8. Now pop this in oven and bake for 30 to 40 mins.
    9. Now remove from oven, cool it down.
    10. Cut it into squares and serve.

      Hope you are doing good. I have a question in the recipe you posted on jun 29th chicken and cheese patty...can we freeze these patties without adding cheese and later cook and use whenever needed? Pls answer my question..if so this will be my lifesaver for kids lunch boxes in the busy mornings.
