    Biscuit Bar, a no bake biscuit bar recipe made using biscuits, malted chocolate milk powder, sugar, milk and butter. This is a delicious rich and decadent treat for kids which can be made without any baking. This biscuit bar is also known as biscuit fudge or no bake biscuit bars, milo bars or chocolate biscuit bars. In this recipe post I have shared two version of making biscuit bars.     This is my go to recipe whenever I crave for something sweet. I can always find a pack of biscuits in my pantry. So making this recipe is a breeze anytime.

    About Biscuit Bar

    Biscuit bar also known as chocolate biscuit bars or biscuit fudge is a popular dessert recipe which can be made by kids to adults. It is a matter of mixing and chilling. Kind of similar to ice box cake.

    Biscuit Bar literally needs 2 minutes to mixing. If you have leftover biscuits then add them in a blender and crush them along with some malted chocolate drink powder and make this delicious dessert. This is an awesome recipe for kids to try. All you need is some biscuits, malted chocolate powder, milk, butter, nuts, chocolate chips. You can use any biscuits as you like.

    Biscuits - You can use any biscuits of choice. Leftover biscuits can be used in this recipe too. Depending on the type of biscuits you use, the taste will vary. Digestive biscuits, Marie gold (you might need to add more sugar), Milk Bikis, Chocolate chips biscuits or Ginger biscuits.

    Malted Chocolate Powder - you can use any brand malted chocolate powder. Some popular choices are milo, ovaltine, bournvita, horlicks & boost.

    Milk - I used whole milk for this recipe. You can use soy milk, oat milk or any dairy free milk like nut milk.

    Sugar - you can use sugar, brown sugar, maple syrup or honey for sweetener. Depending on the biscuits you use, you might want to reduce the sugar amount.

    Butter - butter helps flavouring the biscuit bar and also sets it.

    Salt - I added some salt into the biscuit mixture. If you are using salted butter, you can skip salt.

    Vanilla Extract - vanilla helps enhancing the flavour. You can use pure vanilla extract for better flavour

    Optional - chocolate chips, dried fruits, nuts is added in the biscuit mixture as per your preference.

    2 Ways Biscuit Bar - (with Malted Chocolate Powder, with Cocoa)

    In this recipe for biscuit bar. I have shared two ways of making it. One recipe used malted chocolate powder and other is made with cocoa.

    Malted Chocolate powder - malted chocolate powder has a caramel like flavour in your bar. You can use any brand malted chocolate powder. Some popular choices are milo, ovaltine, bournvita, horlicks & boost. If you are using this, you have to be careful with the sugar you add.

    Cocoa Powder - If you don't have chocolate drink powder. You can easily substitute with 3 to 4 tbsp of cocoa powder and increase sugar amount to ¼ cup.

    How to Make Biscuit Bars at Home (3 Easy Steps)

    Crushing Biscuits - Take biscuits in a blender and powder. Take it in a bowl, add nuts, chocolate chips and salt.

    Making Chocolate Milk - Take milk, butter, sugar, malted chocolate powder in a sauce pan and bring it to a boil. Take it off the heat and stir in vanilla.

    Setting & Serving - Now pour this in the powdered biscuits, nuts and mix well. Spoon this into a parchment lined pan, spread evenly. Leave this in fridge for 30 minutes to set. Cut it into pieces and serve.

    How to Make Biscuit Bar (Stepwise pictures)

    Dry Ingredients

    1)take biscuits in a blender and powder. You can use any biscuits of choice. Leftover biscuits can be used in this recipe too. Depending on the type of biscuits you use, the taste will vary. Digestive biscuits, Marie gold (you might need to add more sugar), Milk Bikis, Chocolate chips biscuits or Ginger biscuits.

    2)Take the crushed biscuits in a bowl. Add in chopped nuts, salt into the biscuit. If you are using salted butter, you might want to skip salt.

    3)Add in chocolate chips and mix well. This is your dry ingredients.

    Wet Ingredients

    4)Take sugar in a sauce pan. I used unrefined brown sugar. You can use normal sugar as well. Add in milk into the sauce pan.

    Pro Tips: I used whole milk for this recipe. You can use soy milk, oat milk or any dairy free milk like nut milk.

    5)Add in butter and chocolate powder. I used ovaltine. If you are using cocoa powder (refer the recipe below).

    6)Heat this and bring it to a full boil. Once it starts to boil, cook for 1 minute.

    7)Take the mixture off the heat and allow it to cool for 10 minutes. Now add in vanilla extract and mix well. This is your wet ingredients.

    Making Biscuit Bar Mixture

    8)Pour the chocolate mixture into the biscuit and mix well. Add little at a time, sometimes you need all the mixture, sometimes you won't be using all depending on the type of biscuit you use. The mixture should be sticky mass like.

    9)I used a 4 inch square pan, line it with parchment paper. Spoon the biscuit mixture into the pan and spread evenly. Press the top with a spoon gently and set aside.

    10)Once it is pressed, place it in fridge and allow it to set for 1 to 2 hours.

    11)once the bar is set. cut into pieces and enjoy. Leftover bars can be stored in an air tight container in fridge.

    Biscuit Bar Using Cocoa Powder

    Chocolate biscuit bar is similar to the above recipe but it uses cocoa powder instead of malted chocolate powder. Cocoa powder is a staple in most of our house, so this recipe is more convenient. The one thing which you have to keep in mind is, cocoa powder is unsweetened so you might need to add more sugar.

    Ingredients Used

    • 3 tbsp Butter
    • ¼ cup Milk
    • 150 grams Digestive Biscuits
    • ¼ cup Cocoa powder
    • ¼ cup Mixed Nuts chopped
    • ¼ cup Sugar
    • 4 tbsp Chocolate chips

    How to Make Biscuit Bar using Cocoa powder

    1)Take biscuits, cocoa powder in a blender jar. I used digestive biscuits.

    2)Add in cocoa powder and sugar in the blender. Powder the mixture till it is coarse.Set aside.

    3)Take butter, milk in a sauce pan. Heat the mixture till the butter melts.

    4)Add the biscuit cocoa mixture, chopped nuts into the milk mixture.

    5)Mix the biscuit cocoa into the milk and cook till it thickens and leave the sides. At this point add in chocolate chips and mix well.

    6)Now the mixture is thick. Transfer it to a parchment lined pan. Smooth the top and place in fridge to set for 1 to 2 hours.

    7)Once set slice into pieces and serve.

    Biscuit Bar Using Cocoa Powder

    Expert Tips

    • You can use any chopped nuts as you like. You can skip adding nuts too.
    • Instead of crushing biscuits in a blender use a rolling pin and a ziploc bag to crush them coarsely.
    • You can add chopped up chocolate instead of chocolate chips.
    • Any biscuits can be used.
    • You can use ghee instead of butter.
    • Instead of milo, bournvita, boost or any chocolate drink powdered can be added.
    • If you like to use cocoa powder instead of chocolate drink powder, increase the sugar amount accordingly.

    Storage

    • You can store this at room temperature for 2 days. Store in fridge for a week or more.

    • 20 Biscuits I used milk bikis
    • 3 tbsp Cashews chopped finely
    • ¼ cup Chocolate chips
    • ¼ tsp Salt

    For Melting

    • 2 tbsp Unrefined Brown Sugar
    • 3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
    • ¼ cup Milk
    • ¼ cup Malted Chocolate Powder
    • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

    Biscuit Bar with Cocoa Powder

    • 3 tbsp Butter
    • ¼ cup Milk
    • 150 grams Digestive Biscuits
    • ¼ cup Cocoa powder
    • ¼ cup Mixed Nuts chopped
    • ¼ cup Sugar

    Instructions

    Biscuit Bar with Malted Chocolate Powder

    • Take biscuits in a blender and powder till fine. Take the powdered biscuits in a bowl. Add in nuts, chocolate chips, salt in a bowl and mix well.
    • Take milk, butter, sugar, malted chocolate powder in a sauce pan and bring it to a boil. Take it off the heat, add vanilla and mix well.
    • Pour this into the biscuit mixture and mix well. Spoon this into a parchment lined pan, spread evenly. Leave this in fridge for 1 to 2 hours to set. Cut it into pieces and serve.
