Simple Cabbage Dal Recipe with step by step pictures. This recipe is made mainly using split yellow moong dal and cabbage with some spices. It is very simple and you can serve it with rice.

Cabbage dal is a very simple and basic recipe. I made this for my daughter and it turned out really good and delicious. Ingredients for Cabbage Dal
- Split yellow moong dal / Pasi paruppu - 1 cup
- Cabbage - 4 cups chopped finely
- Turmeric powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp
- Green Chillies - 2 to 3
- Tamarind Pulp - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Red Chilli flakes - 1 tsp
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
- Cumin Seeds - 2 tsp
- Water as needed
- Sugar - ½ tsp
- Coriander leaves a handful finely chopped
How to Make Cabbage Dal
- Take dal in a bowl and wash it well.
- Add in cabbage, chillies, turmeric and water and bring it to a boil. Simmer the flame and cook for 20 mins till it is done.
- Now add in salt, sugar, tamarind, chilli flakes and tamarind. Mix well. Simmer for 5 more mins.
- Now heat ghee and crackle some cumin seeds. Pour this over the dal and mix well.
- Top with lots of coriander leaves,
- Serve with rice.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Split yellow moong dal / Pasi paruppu
