Cabbage dal is a very simple and basic recipe. I made this for my daughter and it turned out really good and delicious. Cooking Time : 30 mins
Serves: 6 to 8
Cabbage – 4 cups chopped finely
Turmeric powder / Manjal Podi – 1 tsp
Green Chillies – 2 to 3
Tamarind Pulp – 2 tblspn
Salt to taste
Red Chilli flakes – 1 tsp
Ghee – 1 tblspn
Cumin Seeds – 2 tsp
Water as needed
Sugar – 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves a handful finely chopped
Method:Take dal in a bowl and wash it well. Add in cabbage, chillies, turmeric and water and bring it to a boil. Simmer the flame and cook for 20 mins till it is done.
Now add in salt, sugar, tamarind, chilli flakes and tamarind. Mix well. Simmer for 5 more mins.
Now heat ghee and crackl some cumin seeds. Pour this over the dal and mix well.
Top with lots of coriander leaves,
Serve with rice.

|mix well and simmer for few mins|

|top with coriander leaves and mix well|
