Easy Atta Cookies Recipe - Eggless Whole Wheat Cookies Recipe

I am telling you this is one of the easiest cookies you will ever make. It has no butter and no eggs and it is made with whole wheat flour. So it is pretty healthy too.

This is such a easy recipe, you need a handful of ingredients which you might already have on hand. When the cookies are baked it cracks on top and gives a nice crispy crust and a soft interior..

Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Baking Time : 15 mins
Makes : 6 cookies

Whole Wheat Flour / Atta - 1/2 cup / 60 grams
Sugar - 1/2 cup  Powdered (powder first then measure it)
Baking Soda / Cooking Soda - 1/4 tsp
Salt - a pinch
Vanilla Essence - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 1/4 cup / 60 ml
Milk - 2 to 3 tsp
Cherry for topping

(My 1 cup measures 240 ml)

Preheat oven to 180 degree C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.

Take oil, sugar, vanilla in a bowl and mix well.

Now add in flour, baking soda, salt and mix well.

IF the mix looks too crumbly, add in spoonful of milk in and knead it well to a dough.

Take small portion and roll it out and flatten it out. Place a cherry on top.

Arrange it on a baking tray and bake for 10 to 12 mins depending on the size of the cookies.

Remove it from oven and cool it down for 10 mins.

Now remove this to a cooling rack and cool it down.

Store this in air tight container and enjoy.

Take all your ingredients

Take sugar in a blender

powder it finely..now measure 1/2 cup of sugar..
you can reduce it if you want

Take oil in a bowl

add in vanilla

add in powdered sugar

mix well

add in wheat flour

add in salt and baking soda

Mix well

You can see the mix is bit crumbly

so i added 2 tsp of milk

make it into a dough

now take a small portion

roll it out

flatten it

place a halved cherry on top

arrange it in a parchment lined tray

Bake till done

These cookies are very good..soft and buttery

The top and bottom are crispy

  1. i made this cookies two days back.. the taste was yum.. !! but it was so hard and lil chewy inside.. can u tell me wer i went wrong..

  2. Just made these... but its a total fail... they went totally flat. Too much sugar and too much oil. I can even taste the baking soda. Are you sure your measurement are accurate?

    1. Yes it is right. I think u must have added too much baking soda and over baked it.

  3. Yes, even it is a failure for me also. The cookies went flat and too much sugar and oil.

  4. just made these cookies. turned out nice but I think next time I'll be adding a little less sugar

  5. Too much quantity of sugar.... I think it shud be 1/4 cup.. Just a suggestion

  6. you are right Bernice, the measurement is wrong. If one cup is 240 ml then half cup should be 120 no 60. Please correct your measurement in your recipe.

  7. The recipe is awesome. Easy and quick to make.
The cookies turned out perfect, family loves it.
