I have mentioned that i have been feeding maha soups daily, she is loving it. I make different soups daily and feed her. Add different veggies in here soups too. I have already posted a dal spinach soup. This is a plain simple dal soup, but very nutritious. Check out my other soup recipes too.

I have shared two version of this soup. A clear one and a thick one. For younger babies you can feed dal clear soup. But maha doesn't like the clear soup. So i puree the whole dal with all the ingredients added and make it thick and creamy..She loves it that way.

How to sterilize baby feeding bowls:

Start by sterilizing the bowls and spoons which you are going to feed your baby. Take the bowl and spoon in a large saucepan, cover it with water and bring them to a boil. Boil it rapidly for 5 mins. Now you can turn the heat off and leave them stay in the hot water till use.

    Ingredients for Dal Soup

    • Toor Dal / Tuvaram paruppu - 2 tbsp
    • Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - ¼ tsp
    • Garlic - 1 fat clove peeled
    • Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - a pinch
    • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - ½ tsp
    • Water - 1 cup

    How to make Dal Soup

    1. Wash toor dal really well. Now take it in pressure cooker along with all ingredients and cook for 4 whistle.
    2. Now turn off the heat and let the steam go all by itself.
    3. Open the cooker.
    4. Now for dal clear soup you can strain the dal in a sieve. The strained liquid is dal clear soup. You can feed that too babies less that 6 months. Pour it in a sterlized feeding bottle and feed your baby.
    5. For Dal soup, take the strained dal in a mixer and add some of the cooking liquid to it. Puree till smooth. Pour this into bowls and feed your baby.

      Hi Aarthi,
Good to find month wise useful baby food recipes here.
My baby will complete 5 months on 5th May. I find her hungry every hr n half. Does this mean I need to start her on alternate feed or continue only breast/formula milk till she turns 6 months?
Also, the jaggery u use is of palm or sugarcane?
      Thanks.

Feeding bottles ought to be washed and sterilized lots since your baby would wish regarding eight feedings during a day. to boot, you would possibly be impatient to travel back to figure and would wish additional bottles to store your own milk sure your baby after you are at work see more information.
