    Drumstick Leaves Adai Dosa

    This is a super delicious adai recipe which is made using dal and drumstick leaves. Both are rich in iron , protein and makes a great after school snack idea for kids. Try to include this in your kids diet at least once a week.

    About Drumstick Leaves Adai

    Healthy and nutritious adai dosa is made with variety of lentils. This is a popular breakfast all over South India. You can use variety of dal in certain proportion to make this.

    This lentils adds protein to your diet as well as very healthy.

    Drumstick Adai Ingredients

    • Lentils | Dal
    • Onions
    • Chillies
    • Ginger
    • Curry leaves
    • Chilli powder
    • Drumstick Leaves

    How to Make Drumstick Leaves Adai (Stepwise Pictures)

    1)These are the dal I am using for making this dosa.

    2)Wash them well and take it in a bowl.

    3)Cover them with water and leave them to soak for 5 hours.

    4)Now the dals are soaked.

    6)Take them in a blender.

    7)Make them into a thick batter.

    8)These are the ingredients for flavouring.

    9)I coarsely chopped them in a food processor.

    10)Add it into the batter.

    10)Add salt and asafoetida.

    11)Add some chilli powder and mix well. This is your regular adai batter.

    12)Now for making drumstick adai, Add a bunch of cleaned drumstick leaves into the batter.

    13)Mix well.

    14)Make adai in a dosa pan. Drizzle oil around the sides and let them cook on medium heat until golden on both sides.

    15)Cook both side till golden brown.

    Ingredients

    For Soaking & Grinding

    • 1 cup Rice - 1 cup I used normal cooking rice
    • ½ cup Green Gram Dal
    • ¼ cup Masoor Dal
    • ½ cup Toor Dal
    • ¼ cup Urad Dal
    • 1 large Onion peeled and chopped finely
    • 4 no Green Chilli chopped finely
    • 1 inch Ginger peeled and chopped finely
    • 4 sprig Curry leaves
    • 2 tbsp Kashmiri Chilli Powder
    • 1 tsp Asafoetida
    • Salt to taste
    • 3 cups Drumstick Leaves cleaned
    • Oil for making dosa

    Instructions

    • Take all the dals and rice and wash them well in lots of water. Now soak them in water for 5 hours. Now strain them and take it in a blender and make into a fine paste by adding some water. Transfer this to a bowl and mix well.
    • Now take onions, green chilli, ginger and curry leaves in a food processor and chop them finely. Add it to the batter and mix well. Add asafoetida, salt, chilli powder to the batter and mix well. Adai Batter is done.
    • Now Add drumstick leaves to it.
    • Heat a tawa. Take a ladleful of batter and make into thick dosa. Drizzle oil on all sides and cook 2 to 3 minutes on one side. Flip over and cook until golden.
    • Remove from tawa and serve with coconut chutney.
