Green Peas Masala Recipe
Ingredients
- Oil - 3 tblsp
- Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp
- Cinnamon / Pattai - 1 stick
- Cardamom / Yelakai - 4
- Onion - 2 large cubed
- Tomato - 3 chopped
- Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
- Coriander Powder - 1 tblsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Cashews - 10
- Melon Seeds - 3 tblsp
- Jaggery / Sugar - 1 tsp
- Frozen Peas - 2 cups
Instructions
- Take onion and tomato in a blender and puree till smooth.
- Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add cumin, cinnamon and cardamom and let them sizzle.
- Add in onion puree and cook for 5 mins.
- Add in spice powders and salt and mix well. Cook till oil separates.
- Grind cashews with melon seeds. Add that into the masala. Add water and bring it to a boil.
- Add peas and sugar. Mix well.
- Cover and simmer for 5 to 10 mins.
- Serve.
