I was craving for poori masala today for breakfast. When i looked for potato in my pantry i was totally out of it. So i decided to make a version of poori masala without potato. Instead of potato i used gram flour and it gave the same consistency and taste.

Puri is an Indian subcontinental deep-fried bread made from unleavened whole-wheat flour. It is consumed for breakfast, as a snack, or as a light meal. It is typically eaten with a savoury curry or bhaji, such as puri bhaji, but it can also be eaten with sweet dishes.
Ingredients for Poori Masala without Potatoes

Green Chilli :
The green chillies in cooked or raw form give a fiery hot flavor. To reduce the fiery hot flavor the seeds and inner membranes could be removed which is effective at reducing the heat of the pod.

No Potato Puri Masala Recipe | Poori Masala without Potatoes
- Oil - 2 tblsp
- Onion - 3 large sliced thinly
- Tomato - 1 chopped finely
- Gram Flour - 2 tblsp
- Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Frozen Peas - 1 cup
- Salt to taste
- Green Chillies - 4
- Ginger - 2 tblsp
- Garlic - 6 cloves
- Heat oil in a kadai.
- Add onions and salt. Cover and cook till onions get soft.
- Add ginger green chilli and garlic paste and saute for 1 mins or so.
- Add in tomatoes and mix well. Cover and cook till it gets mushy.
- Add in spice powders and mix well.
- Add in peas and mix well.
- Add in water and mix well.
- Bring it to a boil.
- Add in gram flour mixed with water and mix well to thicken.
