Punjabi Dahi Aloo
This is a easy side dish which i made for the battura which i made few days back and it was so delicious..Just loved it..The tanginess of the yogurt was perfect in this and it was so creamy as well. Plus it is very simple to make..Since we are adding gram flour along with yogurt the yogurt won't split when we add it in the hot pan instead it turns out creamy and thick.
Ingredients for Dahi Aloo Recipe
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp
- Thick Curd / Yogurt - 1.5 cup
- Besan / Gram Flour / Kadalai Mavu - 1.5 tbsp
- Water - 1.5 cup
- Onion - 1 large chopped finely
- Green Chillies - 2 chopped finely
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
- Tomato - 1 large chopped finely
- Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
- Coriander Powder - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder - 2 tsp
- Potatoes - 2 large boiled, peeled and cut into small pieces
- Salt to taste
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Coriander Leaves a handful finely chopped
How to make Punjabi Dahi Aloo Recipe
- Heat oil in a kadai. Add in cumin and let it sizzle.
- Add in onions and green chillies and saute till golden brown.
- Now add in ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.
- Add in all spice powder, salt and sugar and mix well. Now add in tomatoes and cook till mushy.
- Now add in boiled cut potatoes and toss well.
- Now add in the besan yogurt mix and mix well. Add in water as well. Keep mixing and bring it to a boil. Simmer this for 5 to 7 mins.
- Add in coriander leaves and mix well.
- Serve with roti..
