Maha has grown up into a little girl now. So i am trying to make fun and kids friendly recipes for her. Even though i try a lot of recipes, trying to find the dish which she loves is quite hard for me. Someday she eats it and someday she never touches it at all. This is one recipe which i made for her and she loved it to the core.

I spread some nutella over the bread and coated it with a eggless custard mix and fried it. It was delicious. Instead of custard powder mix, you can use egg coating as well. Check this link…

Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..

My lil one loved it..i am sure your kids will love this too..
Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 2 to 3 mins
Serves: 2

Ingredients:

Bread Slices – 4 to 6

Unsalted Butter – 2 tblspn

For Eggless French Toast Coating:
Custard Powder – 2 tblspn
Sugar – 1.5 tblspn
Milk – 1/2 cup
Vanilla Essence – 1/2 tsp

OR

For Egg French Toast Coating:
Egg – 1
Sugar – 1 tblspn

Take bread slices, cut the crust off, spread 1.5 tblspn of nutella onto each slice and spread it evenly. Now cover with another slice and cut it into fingers or sticks.

Mix all the ingredients given for coating.

Melt butter in a pan for frying.

Take each sticks and dip in the coating, put it over the butter and fry them for 2 to 3 mins till golden on both sides, cook on low heat.

Remove and cool little and serve.

Pictorial:

Take your bread slices, i am using white sweet bread
remove the crust
take some nutella
spread it…be generous with the nutella..

Just on a health note..please do not give Nutella to such a young child. It is nothing but sugar.French toast by itself is good when prepared the traditional way..not really frying with a lot of oil. Oil and sugar gives the taste buds a very wrong taste that they should not have at this age.Your child likes the oil ( fried) and the sugar. Indian good has other great healthy food items like Vadai made with lentils. Poor American kids eat this fried, sugar loaded junk food as they cannot afford healthy food. They grow up eating this and loose the taste for anything healthy.
