    If you are looking for a healthy version then you will love it. I used karupatti as sweetener. You can use palm sugar in this too.

    Quinoa is a healthy seed which you can use in your cooking in different forms. You can add it to salads, serve with your curries or make desserts with it. Sarkarai pongal or sweet pongal can be made with cooked quinoa.

    • Cashews
    • Raisins
    • Cardamom Powder
    • Dry Ginger Powder

    Quinoa Pongal a Healthy pongal for all those healthy freaks. This one is so good and you wont feel guilty eating it.

    Ingredients

    • 3 tbsp Ghee
    • 2 tbsp Yellow Moong Dal / Pasi Paruppu
    • ½ cup Quinoa
    • 2 cups Water
    • 1 cup Jaggery or Karupatti
    • ½ cup Water
    • 2 tbsp Cashews
    • 2 tbsp Raisins
    • ½ tsp Cardamom Powder
    • ½ tsp Dry Ginger Powder

    Instructions

    • Heat 1 tsp of ghee, add moong dal and roast for a min.
    • Add in quinoa and mix well.
    • Add in water and mix well.
    • Cover and cook.
    • Now jaggery syrup and cook till it thickens.
    • Add in ghee little by little and cook till it thickens.
    • Add in cardamom and dry ginger powder.
    • Fry cashews and raisins in ghee and add it in the pongal.
    • Serve.

    Quinoa Pongal Recipe with Step by Step Pictures

    1)Heat ghee in a pan. Add in moongdal.

    2)Roast for a min.

    3)Add in quinoa

    4)Mix well

    5)Add in water

    6)Cover and cook

    7)Take karupatti in a pan

    8)Add water

    9)Cook till it is melted.

    10)Now the quinoa is cooked.

    11)Add jaggery syrup

    12)Mix well

    13)Add in ghee little by little

    14)Add in cardamom powder

    15)Add in dry ginger powder

    16)Mix well

    17)Heat ghee in a pan

    18)Add in cashews and raisins

    19)Fry till golden

    20)Add it in

    21)Mix well

    22)Serve
