    Idiyappam is one of my family favourite. Hubby loves it for breakfast, when i make chicken curry or mutton dish. I dont know how much idiyappam he devours..Since he loves idiyappam, i try to make it healthy by adding ragi, wheat in them. This is one variation which i made couple days back by adding thinai flour in it and it was yum...

    Ingredients for Thinai Idiyappam

    • Foxtail millet flour / Thinai Mavu - 1 cup
    • Rice Flour / Arisi Mavu - ⅓ cup
    • Salt - to taste
    • Oil - 1 tsp
    • Boiling Water as needed

    How to Make Thinai Idiyappam

    1. Take foxtail millet flour in a kadai and roast for 2 to 3 mins till nice aroma comes it.
    2. Take it off the heat and add in salt and rice flour. mix well.
    3. Pour in boiling water and mix well till it forms a little sticky dough.
    4. Add in oil and mix well as well.
    5. Now fill idiyappam press with this and press to form idiyappam over steaming plate.
    6. Steam it for 7 to 8 mins.
    7. Now remove it and invert it to a plate.
    8. Serve with chutney, sambar, kurma or sugar and coconut.
