Ingredients for Thinai Upma

Thinai / Foxtail Millet - ½ cup

Oil - 1 tsp

Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - ½ tsp

Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - ½ tsp

Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - ¼ tsp
-
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
-
Onion - 1 medium size chopped finely
-
Green Chilli - 1 chopped finely
-
Carrot - 1 chopped finely
-
Coconut - ¼ cup grated

How to Make Thinai Upma
- Heat oil in a pan, Add in mustard, urad dal and cumin seeds, add curry leaves as well and let it splatter.
- In goes onions, chillies and saute for a min.
- Add in carrots and cook for couple of mins.
- Pour in thinai and stir well. Add water, salt and bring it to a boil. Cover and simmer for 15 mins till it is cooked.
- Add coconut and coriander leaves and mix well.
- Serve.

Ingredients
